Kuryama

After several hours of trekking through the rainforests of Parc National des Volcans, we finally reached a steep clearing, the day's home to one of the few remaining mountain gorilla families in the world. A few minutes into our visit, and first contact with some of the females of the troop, the dominant male silverback - Kuryama, son of Titus - finally realized our presence, and stormed loudly through the thick vegetation towards our group. The brief display of dominance quickly subsided, once he was appeased that we were no threat to the troop. Kuryama leaned back, exposing his rather impressive stature, scanning the group of visitors inquisitively, before getting bored with us and returning back to eating and resting.
